Atebubu NDC Youth Locked Up Party Office

Angry National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth at Atebubu Amantin yesterday chased out executives of the party from the constituency office.

The group, which calls itself Concerned NDC Youth of Atebubu Amantin, said it has lost confidence in the constituency executives and therefore taken over the running of the party in the constituency.

In a press release signed by Bashiru Tanko, a youth activist and sent to some media houses in the Brong Ahafo Region, the angry concerned NDC youth stated 10 reasons why they had lost confidence in the executives and revoked their positions.

They alleged that the constituency executives since 2012 have failed to hold meetings to discuss pertinent issues.

The group also accused the executives of selling motorbikes meant for campaign in 2012 and misappropriated the proceeds.

The concerned NDC youth claimed the constituency executives were only interested in amassing wealth to the detriment of the growth of the party.

The executives, they alleged, have also connived with disgruntled party members to burn the constituency voters’ register meant for exhibition.

The executives have also been accused of looting and selling SADA machinery meant for SADA work and development in the district.

They alleged that the constituency chairman, George Kyere Mensah had failed to renovate a slaughter house in a contract awarded to him at the cost of GHC45,000.

The chairman, they claimed, also used party vehicle for his business which led to its breakdown.

The youth also accused Mr. Kyere of receiving part payment for a contract awarded him to build a three unit classroom block.

They said owing to the misconduct of the current executives, they have appointed interim executives in the persons of Issaka Inusa, chairman, Christopher Nimfan, Secretary, Pricilla Adams, Women Organizer, Mahadi Musa, Organizer and Adu Tuahene, treasurer to steer the affairs of the party.
