BNI Is Propaganda Wing Of NDC... - Sir John

Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie a.k.a Sir John has described the arrest and the abrupt deportation of the three South Africa Ex-policemen as propaganda to equalise the bad decision President Mahama took to harbour the two Gitmo detainees in the country.

According to him, the action of the BNI is a tit for tat because of the NPP's bashing of the government on the Gitmo 2 saga.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Sir John ascribed the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) as the propaganda wing of the NDC; thus the state security institution has become a branch of the NDC propaganda department.

“NDC used to have a propaganda department and after learning from us to change it to communication office, they have given the propaganda department to BNI and now the BNI does the propaganda job for the NDC...If not, Koku Anyidohu, Kofi Adams, Dr. Omane Boamah are now spokespersons for BNI”, he asserted.

He wondered why despite the description of the 3 South Africans as terrorists and mercenaries, the BNI only charged them with violation of the immigration law for not being specific with their activities in the country.

He stressed that due to the feeble nature of the charge, BNI could not write the letter used to deport the 3 South Africans but rather it was Ghana Immigration Service which wrote the letter to deport the 3 Ex-policemen.

“People that BNI and the NDC claimed to be training people to be mercenaries in the country as well as terrorists to cause disturbances; do you charge them with only violation of immigration law? Have you heard this before?”

He reiterated that it is therefore not surprising that the Attorney General has written to discontinue the case because there is no case for the government to pursue except that the NDC’s main aim was to cause equalisation for the Gitmo 2 saga.

“So what was the essence of the noise the NDC have been making in the country describing the NPP as terrorists and mercenaries? Where is BNI that Pakistanis are training people in the country? Haven’t they heard the news about the Pakistanis in the country?” he quizzed.
