Deputy Communications Director of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Fred Agbenyo has responded to recent comments by Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Reverend Charles Palmer-Buckle.

Archbishop Palmer-Buckle expressed worry about the political tagging of individuals who speak on national issues.

According to him, anybody who addresses issues regarding the economy and development is either branded an NPP or NDC stalwart or supporter.

He vehemently spoke against it saying "it was regrettable that individuals, including men of God who spoke on national issues, were branded as being members of the two major political parties, saying it is like “give a dog a bad name and hang it," the Tuesday edition of the Ghanaian Times stated.

Commenting on the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Fred Agbenyo advised individuals to comport themselves and discuss national issues objectively.

To him, there is no way any person who takes sides on a national issue will not be tagged as belonging to a particular faction because these people pretend to be objective while they are not.

“How come some people nobody tags them? When they speak, everybody keeps quiet and listens. How do you see somebody, his behaviour and character and you say this person is peaceful while you see another one and say this person is troublesome.”

He advised men of God as well as socio-economic commentators to sift their submissions without dancing to the tune of any political party.
