NDC Guru Defects To Konadus NDP

NANA ADU Asare, a staunch National Democratic Congress (NDC) member at Atimatim in the Affigya Kwabre South Constituency of the Ashanti Region, has crossed carpet to the National Democratic Party (NDP).

“What I am about to say will surprise many, but that is my firm decision which can never be reversed. I have now left the NDC and I am now with the Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ NDP,” he stated to a rapturous applause.

He unleashed the bombshell during a mammoth rally at the Atimatim school compound on Sunday, held by the Ashanti Regional branch of the NDP to welcome Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, the party’s founder.

The meeting was also used to officially welcome scores of NDC members in the area who had defected to the NDP.

Nana Adu Asare told the huge crowd that he had faithfully supported the NDC for many years, but was leaving the party because it lacks credibility and doesn’t respect the views of its members.

He said the justice, probity and accountability, which former President Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings used to form the NDC had been thrown into the gutters by the current leadership.

Nana Adu Asare, who is advanced in age, observed that issues of corruption and purported stealing of state funds by government officials are now the order of the day in the ruling NDC, under the watch of President Mahama.

The old man said he was not trained by the Rawlings family to be corrupt therefore he had decided to leave the NDC and join Nana Konadu’s NDP where justice, probity and accountability are given prominence.

“Look at the deplorable manner at which the NDC treated Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings before she left the party to form the NDP. If my mother is gone then what am I waiting for in the NDC?” he asked.
