Validation Is NPP's Idea Not ECs Committee . . . .- Gen Mosquito

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah says the issue surrounding the supposed validation believed to have been part of the recommendations of EC’s committee of experts is emanating from the camp of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the NDC Chief Scribe, validation is not part of the recommendations of the committee of experts’ report but it is an idea the opposition NPP wants to push riding on the back of the committee so that the Electoral Committee will appear bad before Ghanaians.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, General Mosquito as affectionately called, said the writing of the committee is so glaring at page 69 and 70 for all to see its recommendations.

Thus the supposed validation the NPP is talking about in its press conference is fabricated falsehood which it wants to hang on the committee and thereby drag the argument unnecessarily.

“Everybody has a copy of the committee of experts report but the NPP at all cost want to throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians that the experts recommended for validation,” he stated.

“If it is your idea that NPP as a political party disagrees with the committee of experts on its recommendations and therefore the validation is what they want, they should be bold to speak clearly on it but don’t say it was the committee of experts that called for validation of the voters register,” he stressed.

He however was of the view that what the NPP quoted in its press conference as part of the committee’s recommendations is rather part of the deliberations which took place during the forum as the actual recommendations are found on page 69 and 70 of the committee report and not on page 20 and 21.

“They should be able to let Ghanaians know what actually they want to see changed in the recommendations of the committee of experts, but don’t hang your demand on the neck of any stakeholder that the committee of experts want validation of the register and the EC is rather adamant to heed to the recommendation,” he hinted.

The outspoken Chief Scribe says the cowardly approach of the NPP to smuggle in this validation idea shows that the NPP has no faith in the validation proposal they want to champion since they are not bold enough to owe up to that idea unless they drag people along with it.
