Nigerian Kills Friend Over Toothbrush

The police have apprehended a 26 year old Nigerian for allegedly stabbing his compatriot over a used toothbrush.

The suspect identified as Marvelous Okere-Son allegedly took the toothbrush of the deceased person Sunday Organ to brush his teeth but never returned it, resulting in a fight.

Marvelous in anger took an empty wine bottle, broke it and stabbed the head and back of the victim.

The victim, Sunday was rushed to the LEKMA hospital for treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Narrating the story to DAILY GUIDE, ASP Effia Tenge, the Accra Regional Police Spokeswoman said the incident occurred on Saturday April 30, 2016 around 9am at Nungua beach drive area where the two live in a single room together with five others.

Reports received indicated that the suspect and deceased were from Delta State in Nigeria and arrived in the country only two weeks ago and were perching with the other five friends who are all Nigerians.

They engage in petty trading for a living.

On that fateful day, the victim, Sunday Organ after realizing that his friend Marvelous had taken his tooth brush and had not returned it, confronted him.

This turned into a fierce fight but they were later separated and sacked out of the room by the other occupants.

The two combatants after leaving the room, continued the fight on the compound where Sunday in the process allegedly slapped the suspect.

Marvelous got offended and went for an empty wine bottle, broke it and used the sharp edge to stab the head, and back of Sunday.

The victim instantly fell on to the ground unconscious with blood oozing from the head-wound.

He was rushed to LEKMA hospital for treatment but died on arrival.

A report was later lodged with the police and Marvelous Okere-Son was arrested.

The body of Sunday Organ has since been transferred to the Police Hospital Morgue for preservation while investigations continue.

Meanwhile, suspect Marvelous has provisionally been charged for murder and is being processed for court.
