New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Juaboso constituency in the Western Region has accused the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Kwabena Minta Akandoh of attacking her and her team at a registration centre in the constituency.

Martha Kwayie and her team alleged that, they were attacked by heavily built men who dropped down off from a Ministerial vehicle which was being driven by the MP.

The vehicle’s number was given as GV 1 – 16.

In an interview on Asempa FM Thursday, Martha Kwayie said, the machomen after alighting from the vehicle driven by the MP started attacking the NPP Parliamentary candidate.

“She was given heavy slaps and beaten with everything they could lay hands on including the plastic chairs of an Assembly of God church in the area which had been offered to the registration officers…,” he said.

The windscreens of the Parliamentary Candidate’s vehicle were also smashed by the angry machomen. The Parliamentary Candidate who was not pleased with the attack, was said to have proceeded to the Juaboso Police Station to go and launch a complaint.

Martha Kwayie said she has been given a medical form for medical attention at the Juaboso government hospital pending investigations.

In a quick rebuttal, Kwabena Minta Akandoh denied allegations describing it as palpable false. “Martha knows I will never in any occasion sent anybody to come and beat her” he stressed.

The NDC MP noted that he got to the polling station after the said incident occurred thus it will be wrong for me to admit such a thing happened.

Kwamena Minta Akandoh maintained that “if I attempt to give you any explanation, I will be lying because I did not see anything”.
