Train Security Personnel In Election Management Gen. Mosquito To EC

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, is advocating the training of security personnel who will be assigned to police the various polling stations during the 2016 general polls on election management.

He is certain that the training will enable the law enforcement officers to understand the processes that go on at the polling stations during elections.

“My general observation about the ongoing Limited Voter Registration is that so far so good. However, there are few things which needed to be addressed going forward. One of them is the way some of the Police have been conducting themselves at the polling stations”.

“A classical case is a situation where some Police personnel in some polling stations in the Ashanti Region prevented our agents from challenging people they consider minors in the ongoing Limited Voter Registration exercise”.

“Such things cannot be allowed to go on and the only way to curtail the anomaly is to train the security officials alongside those who will be recruited by the Electoral Commission. When do this, they will be able to understand the processes that go on at the polling station”, he noted.

Mr. Nketiah, aka General Mosquito, made this observation when interacting with Fiifi Banson onAnopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM Wednesday.

He was responding to a question from Banson which sought to seek his general observation about the ongoing Limited Voter Registration Exercise as well as some other general issues of public interest.
