No Need To Extend Limited Registration Exercise Fmr CODEO Coordinator

Former National Coordinator for election observing body Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO), Mr John Larvi has stated clearly that there is no need for extending the just ended Limited Voters Registration Exercise.

This according to him is because the EC needs a lot of time and concentration to analyse data from the just ended Exercise to lead it in its upcoming laid down procedures.

According to him, citizens cannot be suggesting on their own for the EC on how it should go about its exercises when it has laid down its own processes that it believes would end with no violence, but good and peaceful elections.

“The EC has set a time for its Limited Registration programme, it has ended and that is not the end. They have to analyze what has been done and I know in analyzing the process a lot of problems would again come up that needs to be addressed with time,” he told CITI FM news.

Mr. John Larvi emphatically noted that “there is no need for any extension, because no matter how long you extend the exercise, there would be more calls for extension, and as a country we must be more serious by working within our allocated periods than being led by the crowd. Therefore I don’t support the extension at all.”

He encouraged officials of the EC to concentrate on the procedures they have laid down than doing what is not required of them depending on the laws that binds them.
