Kwame Gyan Advices NPP, Others Must Learn From NDC

Days after The aL-hAJJ reported results of three polls commissioned by the New Patriotic Party and an online poll pointing to a second term for John Dramani Mahama come November 7, an ardent critic of the president and his National Democratic Congress administration, Mr. Kwame Gyan, is also forecasting the governing party to beat the biggest opposition party in the impending election.

Perhaps, overwhelmed by the strategies of the NDC, Mr. Gyan described the governing party as “awesome as an election-winning machine”, noting further that, despite the numerous complaints about hardship, corruption and incompetence of the Mahama government, “the NDC knows and has what it takes to win an election any day.”

According to the prolific writer who is also, Head of Corporate Communications and Brands at eTV; the NDC only lost the 2000 and 2004 elections “because of the overwhelming cry for change and the retirement of a very popular and charismatic Head of State. Even in those years, they proved hcxow strong they are.”

Subtly taking a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party on his facebook wall for engaging the Electoral Commission in needless banters over non-existent electoral disadvantage, Kwame Gyan, who doubles as host of eTV’s ‘State of the Nation’ program wrote “…they (NDC) may not like the EC and how they do their things, but they won't go at them. They'd rather use the annoyance and flaws of the EC to their advantage.”

He counseled the opposition NPP and other political parties to take a cue from how the ruling party conducts itself, adding “the NDC has meant 2016 and they will go at it with their all even if it means making errors that will deny them 2020.”

This is not the first time the unapologetic critic of the Mahama administration has passed “favorable” comment about government, last year; Kwame Gyan miffed many of his NPP admirers when he praised the President to high heavens for constructing and completing the 302km Wa-Tamale road.

“I recently returned from Wa in the Upper West Region. The 302km Wa-Tamale road is one of the best I have ever used. New road with proper road markings, well placed speed ramps, a bridge or two where needed and all. We made the trip in just under 4 hours

“The colleagues I was travelling with kept telling me how excruciatingly painful to travel between the two towns a few months ago. They say the average time for the 302km road then was 9 hours, if one was lucky,” Mr. Gyan recently stated, adding that

“The road has been fixed now. I don't know how long it took but I love what has been done to it. I understand it was started under the Mills/Mahama Administration. When I drove on the Apedwa-Nsawam road and was upset I most likely wrote a piece or two about it so when government does its job and does it well, I wanna say 'good job Mr. President'.

The people that will appreciate the road more are the thousands that were previously subjected to the tortious 9 or 10 hour drive on a 302km stretch,” he posted on his facebook wall”.

Mr. Kwame Gyan’s latest prediction of a possible Mahama/NDC victory in November may be confirming results of three polls so far conducted by independent pollsters hired by the opposition NPP.
All three polls which were conducted within the last 15 months, point to a first round decisive victory for President John Mahama and the governing NDC. Two of the polling was commissioned by the office of Nana Akufo-Addo whiles the party, under the auspice of Danquah Institute carried out the third.

The virulent Mahama critics’ estimation also gives credence to an online poll result conducted by Ghanapolls.com and currently trending which also saw President Mahama grabbing a whopping 69% (9,100 Votes) while Nana Addo trailed with (26%, 3,405 Votes), Pa

All these polls and prediction are against the backdrop of two reports of EIU predicting a close contest between flag bearers of the two leading political parties with the opposition NPP’s Akufo-Addo slightly ahead of sitting president Mahama.
