The Independent Parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle constituency, Nii Noi Nortey has kicked against reports of a possible alliance between him and his former Party’s Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Some posters have popped up, especially on various social media platforms depicting a collaboration between Nii Noi and the NPP’s Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
However, a statement issued by the Independent parliamentary candidate said there are no talks with any Flagbearer contesting the 2016 Presidential polls for a possible alliance, cautioning those behind it to stop the propaganda.
The statement added: “Indeed we will work with any presidential candidate elected to lead Ghana in the next 4 years but we want to state unequivocally that we are an independent candidate with much support base across the political divide and as such DO NOT attach ourselves to any presidential candidate of any political party.”
The former parliamentary candidate who vied to contest on the NPP’s ticket fell out with his party, after losing the controversial NPP primaries in the Klottey Korle constituency.
Nii Noi Nortey later ditched the NPP to go solo in the upcoming 2016 parliamentary elections, a decision he said was based on popular interest of the masses in the constituency.
