Navy Withdraw Bonking Soldiers From Dzemeni

The military high command has been constrained to withdraw a battalion of naval officers that was recently deployed at Tognor-Dzemeni, in the South Dayi District in the Volta Region.

Apparently, the withdrawal is on account of a tall list of alleged egregious misconducts on the part of the soldiers, including free range illicit sex with married women.

Over the weekend, Enquirer got confirmation that a battalion of naval officers who had been deployed there some three months ago had been changed with different one headed by Chief Petty Officer Emmanuel Boakye, replacing the old one.

Intent was that, after the press conference, a petition would be delivered to the DCE of the area. Apparently however, some naval officers on the ground at the time of the press conference had misinterpreted matters and alerted some of their colleagues to get ready for a face-off with the youth.

Immediately after the press conference, while leaders of the community, including Assemblyman Thomas Avoado, Elder Abotsi and others were organizing, at the house of the stool father of Dzemeni, Castro Nediale, the place was stormed by security men.

They included the Kpeve District Polcie Commadner, ASP Thomas Agbanyo, the head of the new naval battalion deployed to Dzemenu, Chief Petty Officer Emmanuel Kwabena Boakyi, and two members of a patrol team.

An infantry man obviously belonging to the patrol team, who never gave his name lividly denounced the anger of the youth of the town at a quick meeting that was held in the house, threatening that the military had armed itself and was ready to take on the youth.

The soldier man said the people had no business crying over the fact that they were losing their wives to the naval officers, claiming that womanizing is a thing that comes to all men naturally.

The comment angered Mr. Castro Nediale, the stool father of Dzemeni, who angrily replied that what the soldier man was saying made no sense. At this stage, the meeting threatened to break down.

However, ASP Agbanyo, the Kpeve District Commander, quickly took authority and urged for calm. The angry military patrol man was not happy about the instilled calm by the police commander and so he walked out of the meeting. ASP Agbanyo however assured the gathering that Dzemeni was his area of jurisdiction and not the military’s and that he will ensure that nothing untoward happens to the people.

He said he had received a copy of the people’s petition and forwarded some to the regional command at Ho and that the regional command would soon convene a meeting with the people and properly thrashes out issues.

Present at the meeting was Chief Petty Officer Emmanuel Kwabena Boakye, head of the new naval deployment to Dzemeni.

He also urged for calm saying there are laid down investigative processes that the military would use to address the people’s grievance.
