Organizers of the prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Charterhouse has heeded to the call by industry stakeholders and the general public to make public the voting results of the awards.
Even though the results have been released, can we trust if this voting results were not manipulated to suit the winners of the various categories, this the question many are raising so far.
According to the public, they can only trust this results if they were displayed on large screens on the awards day but certainly not weeks after the event was held.
In the voting results released on the 29th of May 2016, rapper EL who won the biggest award at the 17thVodafone Ghana Music Awards on April 9, 2016, obtained 36.26% to beat Bisa Kdei with 30.26.
Last year’s winner Stonebwoy only managed 23.38% to place third. Twice winner of the Artiste of the Year, Sarkodie got 7.67% of the votes whiles SP Kofi Sarpong and VVIP obtained 1.10% and 1.05% respectively.
