Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17 years, have in separate instances been defiled by six young men at Dzodze, the capital of the Ketu North District of the Volta Region.
The six suspects, two of who have been identified by the victims, have since the incident disappeared as they are nowhere to be found.
To this end, the police in Dzodze have mounted a manhunt for the six young men who are alleged to have in separate instances defiled the two teenagers on 17th June, 2016 – the night junior high school (JHS) students completed this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Coincidentally, the two victims were at a party organized at a popular pub at Dzodze prior to their defilement at about 9:00 pm.
The district police commander, ASP Albert Zigah, who confirmed the incident, said the two girls were defiled at different locations. More so, the 17-year-old girl (name withheld) is alleged to have been raped by one person while the 16-year-old is also said to have been gangraped by five men.
The 17-year-old claims to have been sexually defiled by one Gafa Lalista from Dzodze-Adagbledu. She asserted that during the party Lalista drugged her to the back of a building and forcefully had sex with her.
The other girl also told the police that she was also returning from the same party when five young men dragged her into one of the classrooms of Ablorme EP JHS, where the miscreants reportedly took turns to forcibly have sex with her.
The victim managed to get home and reported the incident to her mother after which the mother also reported it to the police.
She also identified one Selorm Dzakpasu as one of the culprits and added that she could clearly identify the other four suspects.
