The opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] is pleased with a survey report by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), with support from an unknown pollster, which casts doubts about President John Mahama and his ruling National Democratic Congress's (NDC's) ability to win the upcoming general election.

According to the party’s Communication Director, Nana Akomea, the survey depicts Ghanaians readiness to change government.

He confirmed that his party has had a firsthand information of the survey which has been published by the Daily Guide newspaper today.

“This information has been available to us already and it's true the state security conducted the survey. The report is a source of motivation for us. We are working tirelessly towards that to achieve our aim come November 7,” he said in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie'

The report says Nana Akufo-Addo is likely to emerge as winner of the 2016 presidential election – scoring 51.85% of the polls, followed by President John Dramani Mahama with 41.52%.

Ivor Greenstreet of the Convention People’s Party [CPP] had 2.10% whiles the People’s National Convention [PNC] candidate, Dr. Edward Nasigri Mahama bagged 1.98%of the total vote cast, with the other parties sharing the remaining 2.55%.

Nana Akomea however noted that – “NPP will not be complacent with the survey. We are working harder to win the 2016 election.”
