Photos: NPP Show Kayayei Love On Eid-ul-Fitr

Towards the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr which marks the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has donated assorted items to ‘kayayei’ (head porters) in Kumasi.

The party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiko together with the acting national General Secretary, Mr. John Boadu, donated the items on behalf of their flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo and his vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Items donated included sacks of rice, gallons of oil, tins of tomato, clothing, biscuits, and drinks and an undisclosed amount of money.

In a brief interaction with the gathering, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, stated that had it not been for the support of ordinary men and women on the street, the NPP wouldn’t have made it this far.

He continued that throughout the season of Ramadan, Muslims have been praying for peace and called on Allah to lead us out of misery.

Muslims who fasted during the period need to be rewarded in heaven and on earth, and to do this, Mr. Antwi Boasiko noted that the NPP would continue to support them at any given time.

On the part of the party’s acting General Secretary John Boadu, he added that the move demonstrates the NPP’s love for the welfare of all Ghanaians.

He said the NPP and its presidential candidate was concerned with improving the lives of all people, including porters and their children, to ensure they prospered while their children had a secure future.
