Agona West Assembly Hail President Mahama For Re-Appointing MCE

There was massive jubilation by the Members of the Agona West Municipal Assembly over the re-appointment of Mr Samuel Oppong as MCE by President Dramani Mahama.

Speaking to the media in separate interviews, Mr Frank Abban, Assembly member for Abora Electoral at Agona Nyakrom said Mr Oppong has been re-appointment for the second term of Office based on his useful service.

He said the District Assembly concept is about politics but purely for ‘policies and programmes’ that will propel the development agenda.

Mr Abban, who is one of the oldest elected Assembly members in the Agona West, said he and his colleagues appreciated the re-appointment of Mr Oppong saying they would endorse him accordingly.

‘We are not surprise over the re-appointment because President Mahama knows Mr Oppong’s commitment towards changing lives and transforming Ghana Agenda” he said.

Mr Ofori Amanfo, the Assembly Member for Yaabem Electoral Area in Agona Swedru, also expressed his joy at the re-appointment of the MCE.

When contacted , the Presiding Member(PM) Mr Haruna Sanni, said numerous phones calls from colleagues Assembly Members both in Agona West and beyond expressed their joy about the President's re-appointment of his MCE.

“Am relieved now that Mr Oppong has been re-appointed to continue his work as MCE”, he said.
