Open Thievery At La: How The Rich, Powerful Covet Lands Of Innocent Family

Beneath their dapper show-offs and role model accolades are evidences of how the rich and powerful in society are openly shouldering of and grabbing lands belonging to an innocent Accra family-Attah Tawiah Tsinaiatse.

But the family has a strong message for the chiefs, lawyers, judges and other influence peddlers in society who are feeding off their lands left, right and center: “the day of reckoning is coming when, satisfied that the law cannot protect our lives and property, we will take steps to protect our lands and our lives”.

A very reliable source in the family yesterday told this paper that what baffles the family is the wanton display of disrespect those stilling their lands have for the family saying, “whilst they are stealing from us with the powers available to them, they are also sending us to their allies in court so that we would not only be deprived of our property but would languish in jail as well, can u imagine?”

Behind the Trade Fair is lands scramble for by security service personnel, higher ups in society, with some judges and lawyers leading the loot to the extent that some of these people who are twisting the arms of the family are able to openly boast to them that with the way the thievery has been orchestrated there is no way the family would be able to get back their lands, as all the institutions the family think it could get justice have been bought in to protect the interest of the looters.

The irony of the whole saga, according to friends of the family, is that these high profile government officials and self-acclaimed billionaires, majority of who allegedly become wealthy overnight though fraudulent means and are using their influence against them all approached the family once upon a time with the juicy deal that they were going to help develop the area to benefit the youth in the La community.

Chiefly amongst the injustices that are going on is the chain of apartments that have been put for a higher up in the food chain of government by a man who got his wealth through fraudulent means and is flaunting his ill-gotten wealth all over.

Issues about how higher up in society have turned their attention on the Lands behind the trade fair sit have been muddied that  the legal attorney to the family, Esther Korkoi Quaye has in a petition, dated 30th June 2016, stated that Justice D. Victor Ofoe presided over the case between the La Stool and two quarters at the High Court and gave judgment on the Terms of Settlement reached by the parties on Thursday, 12 July 2001, leading to the formation of the EDDT and that “…Justice Victor D. Ofoe should have recused himself from any case involving EDDT over the same piece of Land when it came up at the Court of Appeal”.

“It is sad to note”, the petition said, “That Justice D. Ofoe, knowing fully well that he had determined a previous case involving EDDT, did not recuse himself whenever the case came up before him at the Court of Appeal. However, he always sat on the case at the Court of Appeal”.

Citing other cases to buttress her case, Madam Korkoi Quaye, called on the Chief Justice to call the Judge to order and ensure that the law takes it course.

More so, following the petition which has delayed at the Judiciary without hearing, this paper can report that politicians, a prominent lawyer and NDC bankroller, judges, and some business men, NDC higher ups, as well as estate developers have had a field day, carving up the land and selling it to the highest bidder.

So server is the land grabbing at the Trade Fair site, that the supposed prominent lawyer is allegedly walling even beyond a fifty- acre land under the name of the trust that was supposed to serve the whole La community and its youth.
