Karpowership Not Affected By Turkey Coup

Karpowership, a subsidiary of Karadeniz Holding, says its operations have not been affected by the attempted coup in Turkey last week and that work on Ghana’s second power barge is still ongoing.

In a statement Karpowership said its “international and local personnel are safe and all our operations inside and outside of Turkey and construction works in our shipyards continue without any interruptions or delays”.

Thus the 450mw Powership expected in Ghana this year would be delivered as planned.

Karpowership has been a sector pioneer in innovative energy projects for the last 20 years, playing an active role in medium to long-term investments in domestic and international markets.

Since it began operations in December, 2015, Karpowership has been committed to supply sustainable and affordable electricity to Ghana.

Karadeniz Powership Ayşegül Sultan, with an installed capacity of 235MW, has been running efficiently and has been producing, on average, 210 MW of uninterrupted electrical energy.

The company has also been consistently undertaking corporate social interventions.
