Non-partisan group, Kasoa Youth for Development in their assessment of development in the Awutu Senya East Constituency has described Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson as the best Member of Parliament for her unprecedented record of achievements in their constituency.
According to the group, the enlisted achievements of Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson since she took charge of Awutu Senya East Constituency in 2012 is worthy of acknowledgement as within four years, she has an unbeatable record of achievements.
In a press release copied to Peacefmonline.com, Kasoa Youth for Development indicated that in the area of health, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson has ended all records of avoidable death in Kasoa as she has provided Ambulance for the Kasoa Polyclinic to aid in moving emergency cases to bigger hospitals.
“Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson has also made possible for the Kasoa Muslim Community to have a Hearse as she promised them when they told her their need as a Community.”

In the history of the fourth republic in the sixth session of Parliament of Ghana, it has been recorded by the Kasoa Youth for Development in Awutu Senya East land that unprecedented record of achievements have been set by Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya East.
As it is important to render verifiable account to the people who have bestowed their powers, authority and trust to and also give acknowledgement to the person who is due, Kasoa Youth for Development which is non-partisan in Awutu Senya land has enlisted the achievements of Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson since she took charge of Awutu Senya East Constituency in 2012.
The following are the unbeatable record of achievements of Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson with just 4 percent of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) allocated to her:
Health: In the area of health, it must be stated emphatically that Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson has provided Ambulance for Kasoa Polyclinic to aid in moving emergency cases to the bigger hospitals to avoid untimely death of any patient. Before she took over as MP for Awutu Senya East, the record of avoidable death due to unavailability of Ambulance was very high but the existence of the Ambulance at Kasoa Polyclinic has helped curbed the situation of frequent death.
Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson has also made possible for the Kasoa Muslim Community to have a Hearse as she promised them when they told her their need as a Community.
As health screening is significant to promoting human growth and production, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson organised three (3) successive mega Health Screening in Kasoa and knowing John Agyekum Kufuor, the “Obaatan pa” as she is popularly called, registered and issued over 2000 people NHIS cards in order to have free access to medical care.
Education: As accessing quality education largely depends on availability of facilities for Education Directorate, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson has refurbished Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly (ASEMA) Education Directorate office with floor tile, fans, desks, chairs, safes, computers, printers, fridges etc.
She has donated ten (10) brand new desktop computers to ALL Government Junior High Schools (JHS) in Kasoa. Hon Hawa Koomson has also donated dual desks to All Government schools in Kasoa. Through Hon. Hawa Koomson, six unit classroom blocks in Iron City has been constructed and re-roofing of Offankor D/A KG has been done. She has also single-handedly provided roofing sheets and bags of cement for Akweley Anglican and Islamic Community Development Schools (ICODEHS) in Kasoa.
Security: When it comes to security matters in Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson has helped in the provision of Police Post for the people of UN-city in Kasoa and also has collaborated with Landlords associations to set up Community Watch Committees in Kasoa as a critical example is Peace Town Watch Committee.
The NPP MP for Awutu Senya East has provided ceiling fans and flash lights to Kasoa Divisional Police Command and she has remarkably provided Power Generator Plant to Awutu Camp Prison.
Social Environment: touching on other social needs of the people of Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson is constructing steel pedestrian bridge for the people of zone 6 and kpometey which is costing her over Ghc30,000 which is near completion.
Over 1500 street lights have been provided and fixed enhancing visibility when walking in the evening and at night; she has also donated over 3000 bags of cement to churches and mosques in Kasoa. Over 100 sets of Jerseys and footballs have been given to youth teams in Kasoa and still counting.
Summing up, these remarkable and unbeatable records of achievements, one will wonder how she was able to make them possible especially when only 4 percent of District Assembly Common Fund but the fact is that she is a true leader who knows how to lobby from inside and outside Ghana to make things happen in Awutu Senya East Constituency.
According to sources, the Kasoa interchange was lobbied by her and what is saddened is that we don’t see interchange being constructed but rather fly over.
In view of this, Kasoa Youth for Development, which its members consist of all the political parties in Ghana endorse Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson in the next general election.
She is no doubt the best MP the people of Awutu Senya East can boast of under the fourth republic as within four years of leadership as NPP MP, she has unprecedentedly covered all the most significant areas of life for her people.
She is also promising to do more than these for Awutu Senya East when she is voted again and with Nana Akufo Addo emerging as President of the Republic of Ghana after December 7, 2016 polls.
