SMEGA 2015 To Be Headlined By Vodafone Ghana

Vodafone Business Solutions (VBS), the enterprise arm of Vodafone Ghana, is happy to headline the just ended Small and Medium Enterprises Ghana Awards (SMEGA) 2015, held at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Accra.

The awards, which were aimed at challenging, rewarding and encouraging entrepreneurship in the country, saw 25 awards given to deserving small and medium enterprises and individuals for their outstanding contribution to the development of the private sector.

VBS, the enterprise arm of the telecommunication giant, Vodafone, believes the increasingly dynamic and evolving world-dictated by the pace of technological growth and advancement would help the SMEs to be globally competitive, hence the need for Vodafone to headline the SMEGA for two consecutive years.

Commenting on the awards ceremony, Director of Vodafone Business Solutions, Angela Mensah-Poku said, Vodafone is very fulfilled and honoured to be the headline sponsor for two years running.

“SMEs are very important to Vodafone because they always want to share in people’s success and very proud that a lot of the SMEs from last year have grown and managed to win awards this year. Mensah-Poku urged the SMEs to make good use of the new technologies available to respond effectively to the rapid change in technological growth. “The advent of new technology, such as mobile devices, IoT (Internet of Things) and unified communications means SMEs can respond rapidly to change and create a competitive advantage. To win in a sustainable way, SMEs require tools that will help their businesses become more agile and responsive to the increasing needs of customers.

“Embracing technology, SMEs can create a more collaborative and flexible working culture, enabling employees to work from anywhere and stay productive,” she said.
