The Hajj Board has said it will refund monies to all pilgrims who could not be airlifted to Saudi Arabia.
It explains that it was earlier assured of increase in quota from the Saudi Arabia Government, but that promise was not fulfilled. Many would-be Pilgrims were denied Visas for this year’s Hajj.
Spokesperson for the Hajj Board, Mohammed Amin Lamptey said the monies of the failed pilgrims would be refund if they paid monies to the right people.
“If you paid your money to the right person provided it has landed in the account of the Hajj Board, then definitely you will receive your refund. There are two options; you can either take the money or ask Hajj Board to keep it for you so that you continue with the process next year,” he told Starr News.
The last batch of Ghanaian Muslim pilgrims stranded in Accra have been airlifted to Mecca to undertake the annual Hajj pilgrimage, but an ample number of the Hajj hopefuls failed to make the final cut.
The 2016 Hajj pilgrimage is expected to begin on September 10 and end on September 16.
