Parliamentary Democracy Has Enhanced Ghanas Image Abroad

The high respect Ghana enjoys within the international community has been attributed to the survival and entrenchment of parliamentary democracy in the country. The Clerk of Parliament, Mr. Emmanuel Anyimadu, made this observation at a workshop organised by the Office of Parliament for the Parliamentary Press Corps at Dodowa. He admonished the media to make fairness, balance and objectivity their guiding principle and avoid undue sensationalism in their reportage on parliamentary proceedings. The President for the Ghana Journalists Association, Mr. Ransford Tetteh, advised the media to abide by the ethics of their profession to enhance or promote journalism in Ghana. The Dean of Parliamentary Press Corps, Mr. Andrew Edwin Arthur, said Ghanas Parliamentary Press Corps has held discussion with the parliamentary Press Corps of the legislative of Canada for an exchange programme between the members of the Press Corps of the two countries to learn from each other in order to enhance their capacity.
