*Drake‘s great year just got better. The rapper/singer is the recipient of 13 nominations for this year’s American Music Awards, breaking a 32-year-old record for the most AMA nominations that was previously held by Michael Jackson with 11 noms.
He leads all 2016 American Music Awards nominees with nods in categories including Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Song and Favorite R&B song, among others. Interestingly, with all these nods this year, he’s never won an AMA before.
Behind Drake is Rihanna with seven nominations. Since they are supposed to be an item, it could make for interesting competition between the two. And we’ll leave it at.
