Otiko Afisa Djaba: Lets Go Out In Numbers And Campaign

Otiko Afisa Djaba, National Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, has called on members of the party to go all out and sell the message of the NPP as contained in the manifesto to Ghanaians because another four years for President Mahama will result in 12 years of corruption, unemployment and poverty.

She also said the destiny of Ghanaian children, who are the future of the country, cannot be guaranteed under another Mahama-led National Democratic Congress administration.

She told the Daily Statesman that the despondency among Ghanaians is at its climax that the only solution is to change the NDC government and bring in Nana Akufo-Addo.

“Women are crying; boys are crying; girls are crying. We need change and the only answer is Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,” she said.

She indicated that the “One District, One Factory,” will open jobs for the youth and the “One Village, One Dam,” policy will also allow all the kayayeis who are in the cities to work for a living will go back to their respective home regions to work since there will be jobs available for them.

On the NPP’s decision not to tax Kayayeis when voted into power, Otiko Afisah Djaba wondered why the NDC would want to tax kayayeis when what they even make is not sufficient to cater for them.

“The NPP, in order to give relief to the poor, introduced the National Health Insurance which has been collapsed by the NDC. All the Kayayeis are crying; there is no education for them. A lot of the Kayayeis finish basic school and there is nothing else for them to do,” she said.

Based on this, the women’s organizer asked Ghanaians to take a look at their present conditions and vote accordingly since, according to her, “a vote for Nana Akufo-Addo will mean education for the poor, the revival of the health insurance scheme and free maternal health care.”
