Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Launched

An ultra-modern office facility which will cater for Sales of Commercial vehicles in a bid to bring sales closer to the company’s service centre was officially opened as part of the workshop.

The all new MCV240 bus, the Actros3040& 4048 and the Atego1814 &1725 trucks were introduced at the workshop which was attended by high profile customers including Transport Operators, Fleet Managers and Users.

In his welcome address, Chief Executive Officer of SSAL, Mr. Nouhad Kalmoni, noted that as part of efforts to meet the needs of its Mercedes-Benz customers the company was introducing these 3 new commercial vehicles which guarantee high performance for smooth and effective business operations.

“Our new office facility which will cater for sales of Commercial vehicles has been strategically positioned at our office here in Tema to bring the Sales office closer to the workshop for efficiency in sales and after sales service delivery.

Presenting the new Commercial vehicles, Mr. Mustafa Kalmoni, Deputy CEO, Head of Commercial Vehicles of SSAL, expressed optimism about the new vehicles key attributes: powerful yet economical engines, robust chassis and are good across multifunctional applications.  They are simply “Trucks that you can trust”.

“The Actros truck particularly is robust, superior in quality and has high payload capability. It comes with or without Power take off (PTO) for either tipping or ordinary trailers, 400 HP V6 turbocharged engine, large cab with bed,reinforced cab suspension and is suited for long haul operations.

The All new Atego truck he also highlighted is a high performance Truck perfectly suited for short and medium distance, high security with immobilizer that minimizes risk of theft. Adding that, it has ample space with driver seats equipped with pneumatic suspension and a cab suspension that absorbs road impacts.

He concluded with the MCV bus touting that it is “an urban transporter with 33 comfortable seats fitted with seat belts for all passenger”.  He urged businesses to target the new Mercedes-Benz Commercial vehicles to be guaranteed value for money.

The day also saw participants taken on a tour round the company’s workshop. Mr. Osama Alhafez, General Manager, After-Sales was on hand to usher the tour and introduce those present to the after-Sales service facility. Other models displayed on the day included the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Executive Bus, Ambulance and cargo vans suitable for city and intercity distribution.

The participants were also informed about the opening of the newest SSAL - Sales and Service Center in Kumasi located at: Prempeh 1 Street, Adum.
