Philanthropist gives furniture to school

Mr Maurice Brown, a Philanthropist, in conjunction with Reverend Father Samuel Atinga, a Lecturer at St. Victor's Major Seminary in Tamale, have donated 100 dual desks worth 4,000 Ghana Cedis to the Maurice Brown Primary School in Zuarungu. It would be re-called that Maurice Brown built the said school without furniture, and has fulfilled a pledge to assist the school with furniture. Mr Joachim Akansugala Akagre, Deputy Director in charge of Planning and Statistics at the Bolgatanga Education Directorate, commended the donors for their generosity and urged the school authorities to take good care of the furniture. Mr Akagre called on parents and other stakeholders to emulate the kind gesture of Mr Brown as education was a shared responsibility. He urged parents to invest in their wards as that was the only way to development. Mr Emmanuell Awaafo, Local Manager of Catholic Schools called on teachers to instil discipline in the children to enhance effective teaching and learning. He appealed to parents to provide the basic needs of their wards and be interested in their welfare.
