Bosomtwe DCE Attacked By Robbers

The Bosomtwi District Chief Executive, Veronica Antwi Adjei, still appears traumatised after three suspected robbers, armed with AK-47 assault rifles, allegedly robbed her.

Madam Antwi Adjei was said to have been attacked by the three masked men at Deduako, a few metres from her bungalow at Kuntanase, the district capital, last Thursday.

The suspected robbers were said to have taken away GH¢2,600.00, three mobile handsets and other valuables.

One of the suspects allegedly wanted to open fire to kill her, but was said to have restrained by the leader of the gang who shouted; “we have got something from her”.

The incident comes barely nine months after the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr. J.B. Danquah, was killed at his residence by suspected robbers.

The Ghanaian Times gathered that the DCE, also the Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the area, was travelling to Accra for an official assignment, when the suspected robbers stopped the driver of the vehicle and ordered them to get out and lie on the ground.

The DCE was said to have surrendered all she had on her to the gang.

It was gathered that by the time the police patrol responded to distress calls and team arrived at the scene, the suspected robbers had bolted.

No arrest has been made, but a source close to the Ashanti Regional Police Command, told The Ghanaian Times that a search had been mounted for the suspects.
