TESCON Mobs Bamba

Alhaji Moctar Bamba, a guru of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) did not get any breathing space at all when he visited Ho Polytechnic over the weekend as some members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) mobbed him. As if to say we have missed you and the entire party the students, hailed the man who has announced his intention to contest for NPP National Organiser come December. The students who held onto him until he entered the studios of the schools FM station, Volta Premier where he was billed to address residents especially party members, waited outside till he finished. Speaking to listeners about his intentions, Alhaji Bamba said his many years of experience as a politician and NPP founding member makes him the number one choice for the position. According to Alhaji Bamba, the NPP in opposition needs more committed persons to organize its victory come 2012 while urging members especially delegates to endorse him to oversee the partys organization. The former MP for Wenchi east and one-time Deputy Minister at the Office of the President said NPP has all its takes to come back to power if it maintains a formidable front by electing the right people to steer its affairs. According to the 52 year old politician, it is high time the party did away with factions and united as one family if it is really serious about taking back power from the ruling National Democratic Congress that has woefully disappointed Ghanaians. It is time for NPP to re-strategize with the right leaders in place to reclaim the Presidency and save the people from untold hardship, he said. In his opinion, he stands tall among all other contestants and hence deserves to be part of the leadership that can take NPP to the Promised Land. He said the party needed everybody right from the polling stations, to the constituency through to the regional and national levels to speak with a common voice. He pointed out that but for some errors; NPP could have won the elections because it had done a lot for the nation. He added that losing is however an opportunity for Ghanaians to see the clear difference between the two parties. Alhaji Bamba said Ho Polytechnic stands unique among all others due to the unprecedented infrastructure the NPP government has put in place to make life comfortable for students. Pointing to the two giant facilities; the auditorium and lecture hall that welcomes people to the institution, he entreated people of the region to bring NPP back to power to come and continue with the unprecedented development it started. Though his campaign stopped short at the school, sources close to him have it he only came to test the ground to enable him prepare and that he would return soon.
