The authorities have released funds needed by the Black Stars ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations

Ghanaian authorities have approved a $3.37 million budget for the Black Stars ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations as the team look to end a 35-year trophy drought.

The Black Stars last lifted the title in 1982 when they defeated hosts Libya on penalties after sharing the spoils 1-1 in regulation time.

According to the budget, all 23 players and assistant coach Maxwell Konadu will pocket $8,000 each after every victory during the tournament, while head coach Avram Grant takes a double of the amount.

The team's doctor will also earn $8,000, same as the players, while the Physiotherapist and Psychologist will earn $5,600 each, which is 70 per cent of the players' bonus.

Also, the match Analyst of the team, Masseur and Kit officer will be paid $4,800 each with $8,000 reserved for laundry when the tournament kicks off.

Government has allocated $815,100 of the total budget for preparations ahead of the tournament, with the team currently camping in Dubai. This includes food, hotel, medical as well as $150 and $200 per diem to players and technical team respectively.

Goal 's checks further revealed that Ghana FA communications director Ibrahim Saani Daara, caterer of the contingent, protocol officer of the team and two scouts will be given $5,000 each as honorarium, with the latter's travelling expenses amounting to $16,000.

Three Black Stars management committee members and two representatives from the sports ministry will also pocket $8,000 each as their honorarium.

Ghana, who have been paired with Egypt, Uganda and Mali in Group D, will play Uzbekistan top-flight FC Bunyodkor in a friendly on Tuesday.
