The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi, has asked management of Ashh FM in Kumasi to share the GH 10,000 cedis bounty initially placed on the missing broadcaster, Daasebre Dwamena, among staff of the station.
The NPP Chairman later donated GH 5,000 cedis to be given to the missing but found presenter.
Daasebre Dwamena went into self-imposed exile on the day of the voting only to surface on January 7, claiming he was ordered by his spiritual father to go into 40 days of prayers in an unknown location.
His disappearance from the station's radar caused serious anxiety and convened amongst political and media circles, amidst rumours of kidnapping and alleged assassination by political opponents.
After several weeks of no hint about his whereabouts, the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako announced a reward package of GH 10,000.00 for any information on the 'missing' broadcaster, a figure which later skyrocketed to a whopping GH 33,000.00 from other well wishers.
But it appeared that all hopes were lost and family members as well as colleagues were about to give up hope, rumours became rife that the disappeared presenter had been spotted at a hideout in the Brong Ahafo, a rumour which later turned out to be true.
Daasebre Dwamena made an appearance on mother station on Sunday, giving a not-too convincing reason that he went into seclusion to protect the then President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, after his spiritual father revealed to him that some people were planning to make Nana Addo disappear on the day of the swearing in unless some spiritual interventions were made.
He claimed he was left with no choice but to sacrifice himself, a reason he was compelled to remain incommunicado for 30 days at a secret location.
However, owner of the station Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong showed the controversial broadcaster the exit when he showed up at work yesterday..
