My Surgeries Not Life ThreateningAnd I Dont Operate Illegally Dr Obeng Andoh

The need for minimally invasive cosmetic procedures has been growing worldwide and the reason to provide safest, less downtime with optimal results more imperative now than ever is what Dr. Dominic Obeng-Andoh, owner and Chief Executive of the Obengfo Hospital is offering majority ladies both home and abroad.

Even though Dr. Obeng-Andoh is a registered member of the Ghana Medical and Dental Council (MDC) – the council over the years has been a thorn in his flesh as far as his cosmetics surgeries are concern.

The Dental and Medical Council has alleged that, although he is a medical doctor, Dr. Obeng Andoh is not a specialist in the area he professes to specialize in.

They have tagged Dr. Obeng Andoh popularly known as Obengfo as a “quack” doctor in his specialization.

Is Obengfo a quack doctor?

“I was trained at the school of Medical Sciences at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. I graduated in 1997. I had my house job training there and then at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Then I worked as a Medical Officer in Korle Bu. I have been in private practice since 2000. But a few years back, I went to Florida to have this specialized training in liposuction. I did the basic, intermediary and the advanced training in liposuction. I got a specific training in high definition liposuction through the use of Vaser.”

“I am not a quack doctor. I have training for all the things that I do, and my hospital is fully equipped with some of the most advanced equipment for doing what we do here. And this is very important, I have not killed anybody. I am not a killer I am a medical doctor. “
“I don’t refer my client to any other hospital – I have never treated a life threaten complication. No dead issue has been reported here [his hospital] since I started operating” - The household name doctor told Peacefmonline.com in an extensive interview

His aggrieved comment comes after a fresh attack by the Medical and Dental Council (MDC) nearly saw the closure of his magnificent edifice.

According to Dr. Dominic Obeng Andoh, the registrar of the council is embarking on a personal agenda against him by making defamatory and malice-filled statements in sections of the media to make him look like some kind of a quack.

He said the recent visitations by the police to his ‘Advanced Body sculpt Centre’ of the Obengfo Hospital on the instructions of the Registrar of the Council Dr. Eli Kwesi Atikpui were part of the agenda to force him out of the profession.

“I am disturb for Ghana because we destroy everything good for the country” he said

Genesis of Obengfo-MDC saga

Giving the genesis of the issues, Dr. Obeng Andoh said “Dr. Eli Kwesi Atikpui himself filed a complaint at the Medical and Dental Council of which he is a part that I was advertising unfairly and in performing countless hernia surgeries around 2010,”

Adding that “So he together with the MDC sat on the case without even inviting me to defend their concocted false charge and succeeded in suspending me from the medical profession for three years in 2012 for having a sign board that had a hernia drawing on when my clinic was located in Mataheko, Accra.”

“I was never invited as natural justice demands even to defend myself against the bogus charge but they passed a one-sided judgment in my absence saying that I should be suspended from practice. I saw my lawyer and we filed an appeal at the High Court.”

Dr. Obeng Andoh said “the court then asked the MDC to file their so-called proceedings that led to the decision to suspend me but they didn’t and haven’t been able to defend their bogus judgment against me till date. The case is still pending.”

Jealousy

The embattled doctor however told Peacefmonline.com that some of his colleague doctors are envious of what he does to beautify his clients.

“I cannot say I am a perfect doctor who has never had complications. Any professional doctor who has done surgical procedures and not had complications may have not practised long enough. Complications are not strange in our practice and sometimes come up and are treated. But it does not mean the doctor is a quack”

“People are fighting me because of jealousy. I am doing what other doctors are not doing and I get very important clients. I receive doctor’s wives, pastors’ wives and celebrities. But my job is confidential,” he said.

Ready to iron differences with MDC?

Dr Obeng Andoh, who believes he is been treated unfairly by the counsel he belongs to says – “I have no issues with the medical council. I am ready to resolve all issues with them. I won’t fight anyone. I will continue to do my work. But I can’t go to everyone’s office to plead with them”

Final Words

According to the cosmetic surgeon – people are worried because they have lost the shape of their body and do not know there is a treatment or remedy for it. Others who have the means are travelling outside the country to do these same things I do here because they do not know we can do these things here. But now we have clients moving from overseas to have their treatment here in Ghana. We must project that than killing what we have.
