Artisans Call On Government For Support

Artisans in Tema and Ashaiman have called on government to help cut down cost of production by reducing taxes and creating an enabling environment for them to thrive.

Again they ask government put restrain on inferior products such as light poles imported from outside since we have quality here in Ghana which can last over 50 years.

John Keami Borbordzi, spokesman for the artisans said this when congratulating the President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and his new government.

Artisans say they have suffered undue stress due to high cost of production and unfavorable conditions since government over rely on low standard goods from outside.

He called on the government to engage the locals in the new era of our development.

They have therefore called of government to take the bull by the horn and use the locally made products to help the economy to grow.

John Kwame Borbordzi is one of the members of the artisans and metal fabricators who gave an example of dubious light poles on the Accra-Tema Motorway where several millions were used but within few months, not one could been seen functioning.
