Two first half goals from Joseph Mensah and John Nortey, helped Elmina Sharks to beat Berekum Chelsea 2-1 in their Premier League match at the Nduom Sports Stadium on Sunday, at Elmina.
Sharks, started off brilliantly and in the process earned a corner kick in the ninth minute of the game, which was neatly converted into the net by Joseph Mensah.
Elmina Sharks continued to dictate the pace of the game and made several incursions into the 18-yard box of the opponents until they were eventually rewarded with a penalty.
John Nortey converted to make it 2-0 in the 35th minutes.
The game was turned into an end-to-end action afterwards, until the referee blew his whistle for the end of the first half.
The visitors came in strongly in the second half and dominated the game and got a consolation through Justice Anane in a goal mouth scramble in the 60th minutes.
They continued their dorminance in the game and made several efforts to level things up but try as they did, they could not find the net until full time.
