Kwesi Appiah And Willy Sagnol Makes Final 2 Cut For Black Stars Job

Former Ghana Coach Kwesi Appiah together with ex-French international Willy Sagnol have emerged as the final two in position to take up the Black Stars job. According to a report by the Ghana Sports Newspaper.

The six-member committee are said to have settled on the two who will be interviewed next week.

Sagnol, having initially missed out on the five-man shortlist was considered after ex-Mali Coach Patrice Cateron reportedly pulled out of the race.

The former Bayern Munich star will be in contention with Kwesi Appiah who has been tipped favorite for the job.

Cameroon National team Coach Hugu Broos is also believed to have been shortlisted by the Ghana Football Association but the Belgian had to pull out due to his running contract with the Indomitable Lions leaving the race between Kwesi Appiah and Sagnol as the only two candidates left.

Both Appiah and Sagnol will be thoroughly assessed by a panel before the Federation (GFA) finally makes a decision on the appointment of a new Coach.

The Ghana Football Association was reported to have received over 100 applications for the Black Stars position.

Ghanasportsonline.com's investigation at the FA however reveal the Association is likely to settle on Kwesi Appiah as the Black Stars head Coach.
