Aflao 'Terrorists' Removed From Border Posts

Importers who use the Afao border posts have expressed appreciation to Akufo-Addo as well as the National Security Coordinator for taking swift actions against 'terrorists' who recently invaded the border posts as nationals security operatives.

It would be recalled that GO carried a story in its last week Monday edition of the BNI in Aflao paralleling some people who are hiding under the guise as invisible forces to be operating as national security operatives in the area.

These forces, our checks have revealed, were harassing, intimidating and abusing importers at the Aflao border as they have virtually taken over the administrative and operational functions of the security services as well as customs.

It was reported that these people have invaded the strong room of Customs and were extorting monies from importers at the border.

However, follow ups by GO have revealed that a day after the publication the so-called national security operatives deployed to the area and all border posts have were removed.

This opened the doors for swift business and peace as importers spoken to have expressed great excitement at the new development and appealed to the President and national security coordinator to deploy people with integrity to man the various posts.

"As at today, those criminals have gone. Actually we don't know what happened but we believe they have been removed due to the publication. What we are appealing is for government to deploy people of integrity not anybody whose identities are questionable," an importer said.
