Court Issues Bench Warrant For Arrest Of "Delta Force" Members

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the thriteen (13) accused persons who were set free by Pro-NPP vigilante group, Delta Force, today, Thursday, April 6.

The Delta Force stormed the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Circuit Court presided over by Her Worship Mary Senkyere  and freed their members - all 13 accused persons.

"They were remanded into Prison Custody to reappear before Court on April 20, 2017," a statement released by the Police Service read.

The members were arraigned before the court following their arrest in connection with the Delta Force raid at the office of the newly-elected Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator.

The Police also disclosed arresting eight (8) persons suspected to have aided the escape of the accused persons.

Today, April 6, 2017, thirteen (13) accused persons of the Delta Force members appeared before the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Circuit Court presided over by Her Worship Mary Senkyere (Nsenkyire).

They were remanded into Prison Custody to reappear before Court on April 20, 2017.

Their lawyers pleaded for bail but was declined by the sitting Circuit Court Judge.

Their supporters on hearing this moved into the court premises and in the process, all the thirteen (13) accused persons escaped through the back door used only by the Judge.

Bench warrant has therefore been issued for their arrest.

Meanwhile, eight (8) persons suspected to have aided their escape from the court premises have also been arrested and are in police custody, please.
