Police Arrest Bank Robbers

The police in separate operations in Accra have arrested a gang of armed robbers notorious for robbing bullion vans and banks. The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Paul Tawiah Quaye, told the Daily Graphic that the police arrested the armed robbers through intelligence collaboration from Ashaiman, Nungua, Achitmota and Cow Lane. This was moments after receiving his Executive MBA (Human Resource Management) at the University of Ghana, Legon last Saturday. Mr. Quaye said the syndicate attacked and robbed in various parts of the country. He said the police shared intelligence on the operations of the armed robbers, leading to their arrest. Mr Quaye said the arrest of the syndicate would bring relief to several banks and corporate bodies in the country. He reiterated the commitment of the police to continue to trail and arrest criminals to protect life and property. The IGP called for effective collaboration between the police and the public in the fight against crime in the country. He specifically asked the public volunteer information on suspicious characters to facilitate the work of the police. On his graduation, Mr. Quaye said his educational attainment would impact significantly on his work and the operations of the Ghana Police Service in general. He said knowledge was a crucial asset, and therefore, urged the public to endeavour to improve on their scholarship. He said with improved education, people would be on top of their jobs.
