Bugri Naabu-Otiko Brouhaha: Let's Peace Prevail - Fred Amankwah-Sarfo

NPP’s Fred Amankwah – Sarfo is calling for “Peace” between the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Bugri Naabu and the Minister of Gender and Children's Affairs, Madam Afisa Otiko Djaba.

He described their wrath within the media as ‘unhealthy’ to the party’s growth and the Nana Addo-led government.

In a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com Fred Amankwah – Sarfo who is eying the National Chairmanship position of the NPP counseled that – “Our utterances and actions must be in tandem with the tenets of our party's constitution.”

Madam Otiko Djaba and Mr Bugri Naabu have in recent times traded some unpleasant utterances in the media – Otiko who is also the Women’s Organizer of the NPP accused Bugri Naabu of taking bribe from people interested in the position of District and Municipal Chief Executive positions in his region.

The Gender Minister emphatically stated in the interview she granted that the regional chairman collects goats, sheep and cows from people.

She also warned Bugri Naabu against courting her trouble wondering why he wants to use her as a cover up for his problems following his inability to meet a litany of promises made to persons seeking appointments after demanding bribes from them.

But Fred Amankwah – Sarfo has called on both to cease fire and rather concentrate on how to make President Nana Addo’s promises a reality for the electorates so as to win their vote in the 2020 elections.

Read the statement below…

The office of Fred Amankwah - Sarfo is calling on the Northern Regional Chairman of our great party, the NPP Alhaji Bugri Naabu and the Minister of Gender and Children's Affairs and the party's National Women's Organizer Madam Afisa Otiko Djaba to cease fire and to allow a peaceful resolution of the impasse.

This call has been necessitated by some unfortunate statements allegedly attributed to the two senior members of our party.

We acknowledge that as human institutions, occasional disagreement within and between ourselves are may be unavoidable.

We are of a considered opinion that when issues such as this crops up, proactive measures be instituted to contain the situation and to maintain peace and tranquillity within and without the party.

Every member of NPP is enjoined by our party's constitution to protect and guard against anything likely to drag the image of our party into disrepute.

Our utterances and actions must be in tandem with the tenets of our party's constitution.

The President Akufo Addo's led NPP government need to be allowed to focus on providing an excellent leadership to our people.

The expectations of Ghanaians are very high with the backdrop of our party's campaign promises and the abysmal performance of the previous NDC administration.

The office of Fred Amankwah - Sarfo is hereby calling on the two senior colleagues to avoid making any further comments on the issue and allow the party's dispute resolution process to address their grievances.

There is all to gain when members of our party became sensitive to public discourse that has a tendency to provide arsenals to be ridiculed.

Let's take advantage of our party structures in all situations.

The image of our party should be paramount even as we seek to address our grievances.

Thank you
