The Madina police have called for further examination on the body of a seven-year-old boy who was allegedly murdered at Ashaley Botwe, a suburb of Accra.
The body of Prince Martin Addo aka Junior, a pupil of New Nations International School at Japan Motors, was discovered on a storey building where his mother trades, on September 26, 2017.
The family of the deceased suspects the boy might have been killed and dumped there by some assassins.
Prince had some bruises on his legs and a deep cut in the ribs when his body was discovered.
The Madina police have called for further examination to be conducted on the body to ascertain the actual cause of death as part of their investigation.
ASP Efia Tenge, the Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, said autopsy had been carried out at the Police Hospital and that the pathologist had sent samples of the report to the Ghana Standard Authority for further examination.
Narrating the incident to this paper, ASP Efia Tenge said an official report about the death of the boy was received on September 26, 2017 at about 11:30 pm.
Reports indicated that on that fateful day, the mother of Prince went for him from school and sent him to her shop.
While with her mother, the boy suddenly disappeared, but the mother thought he had gone to play with his friends.
After packing her wares to close the shop, the mother could still not find the boy anywhere and asked her shop assistant to look for him.
Minutes later, they received news that Prince was lying unconscious on top of un uncompleted storey building close to her shop.
He had part of his legs scratched and looked like burnt, a wound under his ribs and an iron rod lying by his side.
Prince was rushed to a hospital at Madina where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Suspecting a foul play, the family reported the matter to the Madina police.
No arrest has been made but the police said they would continue with the investigation to unravel the mystery behind the death of the little boy.
