3 Notorious Land Guards Busted At Amanfrom

Three out of 30 land guards who have been terrorizing residents of Amanfrom in the Ga South Municipality have been busted by the police.

The suspects are Emmanuel Gamale aka Rasta 35, Stephen Andoh aka Soldier 36, and Kobla Ago aka Dada 28 years.

They were said to be part of the same gang that allegedly butchered a family on October 13, 2017 over a piece of land.

Police reports have revealed that the suspected land guards have been conducting their nefarious activities on the orders of one Kofi Isaac Boakye, their master and leader.

The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Efia Tenge said on October 13, 2017, the land guards including the three suspects attacked a family at Amanfrom for allegedly giving out information about their activities to a client.

Seven persons suffered machete and gunshot wounds in the course of the attack amidst sporadic shooting by the suspects.

They left the scene before police got there but the victims were sent to the hospital for treatment.

Information gathered by the police later indicated that the suspects on that fateful day visited a piece of land in the Amanfrom area to provide protection for a client who had bought a land from their master Kofi Isaac Boakye, while she developed it.

While there, another person came with his documents covering the land to claim ownership.

The victim developing the land became alarmed and since she had no proper documents on the land, she requested to see the leader of the land guards for the refund of her money.

At that moment, all the land guards providing protection on the land withdrew and went back to their master to deliver the information.

On their return, they spotted the victim sitting in the house close to the land waiting for her money and became enraged and without any provocation attacked occupants of the house for providing shelter for the woman.

Five of the victims sustained machete wounds while two received gunshot wounds.

The suspects fled the scene immediately after the attack.

On Friday October 20, 2017, police investigations led to the arrest of the three out of the 30 suspected land guards from their various hideouts.

The others fled immediately they saw the police.

The three were brought to the station and are assisting police in their investigations.
