2018 Budget Depicts “What We’ve Done, Where We’re & Where We’re Going” – Joe Ghartey

The Minister for Railways Development, Joe Ghartey has described the 2018 budget as President Nana Addo’s “report card” with “good and promising” results.

According to him, “The budget depicts what we have done, where we are and where we are going. If you look at all these three, the budget set out to be a very good one. Everyone can testify to that.

Ghana’s Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori- Atta presented his second budget to Parliament on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. The 2018 budget broadly aims at stabilizing the macroeconomic fundamentals and growing the economy by investing in industrialization, infrastructure, agriculture and entrepreneurship to create jobs.

The general outlook of the 2018 Budget reveals Government’s commitment to fulfilling its numerous manifesto promises made in the run-up to election 2016 while striving for fiscal discipline.

Mr. Joe Ghartey in an interview with Peacefmonline.com said he was happy with government policy on job creation – “I hope by 2018, most of the things said in the budget will be accomplished by our government. We will deliver as promised by the president.
