Sean Paul Is A Lovely Brother– Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy has described working with Sean Paul on his upcoming album as amazing, as he eyes a major breakthrough with his fourth studio project.

The 24-track album, titled ‘Epistle Mama’, is a tribute to Stonebwoy’s mother, Catherine Satekla, who passed in 2015.

It has 12 reggae songs on one side and 12 Afrobeat songs on the other side, which makes it a double CD album.

It will officially be released on December 12 and launched on December 22 at the Bhim Nation Concert in Accra.

The album features both Ghanaian and foreign great artistes like Sarkodie, Efya, Kofi Kinaata and Joey B. The rest include Sean Paul, Chronixx, I Octane, Agent Sasco and others.

The songs on the album are ‘Hakuna Matata’, ‘Same God’ and ‘Most Original’ featuring Sean Paul.

According to Stonebwoy, he has high expectations for the album and getting Sean Paul on it is “amazing”.

“Amazing! It’s being amazing. Sean Paul is being a lovely brother; Me and him have personal rapport. He was on tour actually and he asked that when he got to Jamaica. So immediately he got to Jamaica on the 24th and then on 25th he finished and sent his vocals and we have a beautiful song. I pray that ….that sound should go beyond our expectation because we are ready to push this album,” he told NEWS-ONE on Thursday.

“We are not just going to leave this wandering about. I hope to spend enough time on it, since I took time to produce and to promote it. As time goes on, we will be re-releasing some of the songs. You will be hearing remixes,” he added.

Songs on the upcoming album were unveiled for the Ghanaian media at an album listening ceremony at Zylofon Media offices in Accra on Thursday evening.

“My favourite song on the album is not even what we have played for the media. My favourite is ‘Same God’. It is like a gospel song,” he stated.

Stonebwoy has reiterated his commitment to pushing the ‘Epistle Mama’ album to the highest level because he believes it is unique.

“What is unique about this album is the fact that an artiste is daring to complete two albums and release them at the same time. When I say complete two albums: when I pick the reggae album it is complete because out of 12tracks, I featured five international reggae artistes, which makes it only seven solo songs if you break it down. On the Afrobeat side I think only eight of the songs have features as well. So these are the unique things about the album,” he revealed.

Stonebwoy is one of the few Ghanaian reggae dancehall artistes hoisting the country’s flag high globally. He has been nominated for the 2018 reggae group of the year at the Grammy’s with Morgan Heritage.

He was featured on Morgan Heritage’s ‘Avrakadabra’, which got nominated for best reggae album alongside ‘Chronology’ by Chronixx, ‘Lost In Paradise’ by Common Kings, ‘Wash House Ting’ by J Boog and ‘Stony Hill’ by Damian Marley.
