Kenyan Police Arrest Man With 100,000 Bullets and Weapons

A senior Kenyan security official says police have arrested a suspected gun smuggler with more than 100,000 bullets and an assortment of weapons and equipment. The official says police are also investigating whether Kenyan government security officials were involved in supplying the bullets and weapons. The official was speaking Tuesday just ahead of a news conference. He spoke on condition of anonymity because the information hadn't yet been made public. Lawyer Cliff Ombeta says the suspect is Munir Ahmed, a Kenyan. Ombeta says Ahmed is his client and is innocent. He says Ahmed owns only four hunting rifles and that police should explain where they got 100,000 bullets, bulletproof vests and pistols.
