Kokrokoo Charities' 'Project 100' Launches Shortcode (PHOTOS)

Imagine a world where every pre-term child has a 95-99 per cent chance of survival and a chance to a normal infant life. The power to make this a reality lies in our collective hands. Let's beat the odds together.

Call 3322 to donate now! Give a child a gift of a lifetime this Christmas.

You're probably wonderig what this is all about. Well, that is the Chairman-General on radio's humble plea for support towards a noble project.

Kokrokoo Charities, a foundation aimed at equipping neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) of health facilities with incubators has launched a shortcode for Ghanaians to contribute their ‘widow’s mite’.

Shortcode

The foundation has realized that it was cumbersome for some people to visit the banks to donate their money in support of the project.

As a result, they decided to bring this shortcode to make it easy for people to donate.

Hashtagged (#CallForACause), all you need to do now is to dial 3322 on any MTN network and you will be charged GHC5. The GHC5 will be your donation to the project. Very soon, other networks will be added.

To help launch the shortcode were Oheneyere Gifty Anti, host of weekly television talk show ‘Stand Point’ and Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, a Ghanaian Actress and Radio/TV Broadcaster.

10 Installed And Still Counting

In 2015, the foundation initiated a campaign titled: “Project 100,” to purchase a total of 100 incubators for health facilities across the country.

The vision of this project is to reduce the mortality rate of children born prematurely or before 37 weeks of pregnancy.

So far, ten (10) incubators have been installed in various hospitals such as the La General Hospital in Accra and Prestea Government Hospital in the Western Region among others.

The tenth one was installed in September this year at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH)

Meanwhile, on 13th January, 2018, Kokrokoo Charities will be installing another incubator at the Koforidua Government Hospital.
