Latif Blessing Admits Readiness To Switch Nationality For USA

The 'frustrated' youngster has revealed his readiness to represent the Yanks on international stage if approached.

Former Ghana Premier League topscorer Latif Blessing has admitted he could accept an offer to switch nationality and represent the United States on international if approached by the Concacaf nation.

The 22-year-old, who completed a move to Los Angeles FC last month, was in top form for Major League Soccer side Sporting Kanasas last season, scoring six goals in his debut campaign.

However, he is yet to earn a debut senior national team appearance with Ghana, which he thinks is an unfair treatment from coach Kwesi Appiah.

"To play for Ghana is not my target at the moment because I have done whatever any player would have to do to be rewarded with a call-up but I have not received any good signs from the coach," Blessing told Happy FM.

"Currently, I'm focusing on my performance at my new club but I'm also ready to switch nationality and play for USA. When they make an attempt to hand me the opportunity to represent them in the future, I will accept it with both hands," he added.

Latif left Ghana in January 2017 after hitting 17 goals to help Liberty Professionals avoid relegation in the 2015-16 season.
