WSC To Assist Gov’t In Revival Of Colt’s Football

Chief Executive Officer of Wembley Sports Complex (WSC), Mr Robert Coleman, has pledged his unflinching support to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo efforts to the revive colt’s football in the country.

Following calls by President Akufo-Addo to invest in colt’s football to help develop youth football in the country during the 2017 CAF Awards ceremony in Accra, Mr Coleman said the President’s plan was in line with his company’s vision of assisting in the area of grassroots football development through the construction of artificial pitches.

With a promise to construct one artificial pitch in each constituency across the country, Mr Coleman revealed that the development of football has been decelerated due to the lack of infrastructure, a phenomenon WSG is determined to help government tackle to overturn the fortunes of youth football in Ghana.

“I am very grateful to the President for re-echoing this idea which we expect to take off soon on the constituency level so it won’t be bad if our company is once called upon to help on this initiative on the regional level as well,” Robert Coleman told the press.

Wembley Construction firm has so far constructed four ultra-modern artificial turfs, including the Wembley Sports Complex and the Accra Academy pitch funded by Ghana skipper, Asamoah Gyan, and is confident to complete an extra three in the coming days.
