Nine Months After Regency Fireā€¦ Groupe Nduom Bounces Back Stronger

President and Chairman of Groupe Nduom (GN), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, yesterday [January 10, 2018] commissioned the newly built GN offices, which were gutted by fire last year in April.

The offices, located inside the plush Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra, nearly affected operations of GN, but for the swift intervention and good managerial competence business continued.

Commissioning the offices, Dr Nduom commended management and staff of GN for their enormous support when the tragic incident occurred.

Recounting the incident, the president of GN said on that fateful day [22nd April 2017), he was getting prepared to watch a football match involving the Fearsome Elmina Sharks when he received the sad news.

“This land holds special meaning to me, my family and businesses. I acquired it in 1991; it used to be a flood area, but I moved in same year with my family from the States to stay in the flood which has now given birth to multitude of companies GN have today,” Dr Nduom disclosed.

“…I want to thank our employees, management and staff who in the face of great challenges have marched on to be the best that they can be… and I am very grateful to customers who have stayed with us and encouraged us greatly,” he expressed.

He added: “From the fire to the ashes something positive has come alive, which is a strong indication and demonstration that the spirit of God is with us. Groupe Nduom is stronger and well poised to work beyond excellence not only in Ghana but throughout West Africa, Europe and America.”

He revealed that by the end of this month, Groupe Nduom will offer shares in two of the companies including GN Printing and Digicut to the public, disclosing that plans are also far-advanced to put six more companies on the stock exchange.

General Manager of Coconut Grove Regency, Mr Ralph Ayitey, recalled the incident as it happened, saying that the only words which encouraged him and the many staff of the hotel were those uttered by the Groupe president when he spoke to him and his wife on that fateful day.

According to him, the GN president admonished that they all relax as a team was being put in place to tackle the issue, emphasising that the hotel was going to bounce back even better.

He recounted the numerous calls he received from many sympathising with the Groupe which showed how great people cared and loved the company.

This, he attributed, to the ‘wonderful relationship’ the hotel had established with its clients.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GN Bank, Mr Issa Adam, was equally grateful to God for allowing the bank to retrieve its cash through the fireproof safe used to keep money in the bank.

He said his outfit will do well to serve its customers and promote good customer service for the growth of the bank.

He also used the occasion to thank their customers for being loyal.

For his part, Chief Executive Officer of Gold Coast, Mr Kwame Asomaning, used the opportunity to thank their loyal customers and also announce his outfit’s intention to celebrate as it turns 25 years this year.
