Hearts And Kotoko Stunned

Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante kotoko have bowed to Medeama SC and Dreams FC respectively in the ongoing G-8 tournament in Cape Coast and Kumasi Sports Stadium.

Two first half goals from Kwame Boateng and Agyenim Boateng were all that was needed by Medeama SC to silence Accra Hearts of Oak at the Cape Coast Stadium as a Richard Addae’s lone goal also sealed the day for Dreams FC over kotoko in Kumasi.

Medeama SC head coach Samuel Boadu noted before the Hearts of Oak game that he has plotted how to deal with the threats from Accra Hearts of Oak after his side beat Ebusua Dwarfs by 6:5 in their opening fixture of the G-8 tournament.

“I have noticed that Hearts of Oak play flying balls because of their heights, so we have also trained in a way to play possession football.

“We know that by keeping the ball on the ground we can hurt them with their aerial play and outwit them on Wednesday”.

Meanwhile kotoko, who won by a goal to nil in their opening fixture against Eleven Wonders had a penalty by Frederick Boateng saved by Ishawu Yahaya in post for Dreams FC as the pressure from the Kotoko frontline saw a second bookable offence in the 80th minute for Dreams FC’s Emmanuel Eli Keke to take an early shower.

Kotoko would come up against Aduana Stars in their last group match as Medeama sets a date with Karela FC at the cape coast and Kumasi stadium respectively.
