Dangote Remains Africa’s Richest For 7th Time In A Row

Alhaji Aliko Dangote who in the past years has been nominated as Africa’s richest still remains on top according to the current list released by Forbes with a net worth of $12.2 billion.

Dangote with his current position has been on the continental richest seat for seven consecutive years.

According to the current report, his wealth was increased by $100 million from his worth last year.

However, Nicky Oppenheimer of South Africa with his diamond mining heir came up as second Africa’s richest with a net worth ($7.7 billion), wealth was increased massively by $700 million from last year.

Other people who were on the list include Globacom Chairman Mike Adenuga ($5.3 billion), adjudged the fifth richest in Africa and Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija ($1.6 billion) rated the 15th richest in Africa.

“Dangote is looking beyond cement –his most valuable asset – and has been investing in a fertilizer production company and a large oil refinery. Dangote Fertiliser is expected to start operations in the second quarter this year.”
